Emirates has indeed contributed immensely in the
transformation of Konkani literary work,
particularly in Kannada script. Digital literary
work began in the gulf, very much like how
Konkani journalism began in Maharastra. Daiji
Dubai completes 25 years, to make this more
memorable, the new leadership has been selected.

'Poinnari Story Writer of the year 2024',
MRIGZOLL (Oasis) audio book

broadcasted, the stories will also be included
in KATHAPATT Ser-V (National
Level Webinar Series) from 4 Jul 2024.
The papers presented in these webinars will be
compiled into a a book, also these stories will
be digitally published in three scripts
(Kannada, Devnagari and Romi) and released
during KATHASONDHI on 18 August
2024 at a National Symposium to be held in Goa.

Editorial | Konkani Scripts - Where are we?
The
world has transformed from the stone-age to the
modern age of AI (Artificial Intelligence), but
I wonder there are few still stuck at
script/dialect issue rather than doing something
useful for the development of Konkani language,
a global language. Instead of pulling each
other's legs and stop the progress, why cant we
hold each others hands and move forward with new
hope and optimism?. It is the time to realise
the richness of Konkani literature spread across
scripts, through building new bridges of harmony
and brotherhood. Can this hard hitting editorial
shake the brains (if its not already dead?).

Konkani
literature in Karnataka has a great influence
from the literature from Kannada language, just
like how Goa has the influence of Marathi. The
translation from and into Konkani from other
languages certainly enriches the literature.
Vasantha Bannadi is one of the
finest poets, playwrights in Kannada, its the
translation by Prasann Niddodi,
transliterated in three scripts of Konkani in
the column Rongall Savlleo
(Colorful Shadows).

transformation we've been witnessing. The poetry
written in Nagari script (Antruz dialect) is
transliterated into Kannada and Romi script.

Kallza
Bhitorle Rong, maiden anthology of poems written
by Avil Rasquinha, noted journalist, writer,
poet and publisher who served as the Editor of
'Kannik' Konkani periodical for over 20 years.
The book was released by Walter Nandalike (CEO
of Daijiworld Media). Meena Rebimbus, Fr.Roshan
Menezes, Fr.Patrick Sequeira, Mariette Rasquinha
and Avil Rasqunha were at the stage during the
book release program held on 17th December 2023
at Don Bosco Hall Mangalore.

Ashawadi
Prakashan, Dhempe College Goa in association
with DOL (Govt of Goa) organised a National
Symposium on translations and transliterations in
Konkani (Kannada and
Nagari script) KATHADAAIZ. Dr.Jayanti
Naik presided over the symposium, Dr.Purnananda
Chari was the chief guest, Valley Quadros,
Dinesh Manerkar, Ramesh Lad and Shailendra Mehta
were resource persons. MAYANAGARI (Mumbai based
shortstory collection written by Valley
Quadros), published by Sanjana Pubications, and
G.V.Carlo's digital book of Konkani translation
of Ernest Hemingway's novella 'Mhataro ani
Dorea' were released during the symposium,
attended by literary students from various
colleges in Goa.

Karketta's poetry book 'Ishwar aur Bazar'
won her an award which she declined protesting
the atrocity on tribals, dalit and weaker
section of our society by the majority. Fabulous
